Manual de-stacker with belt
Type 170734

Function

Apart from the form and size of the permanent magnetic system, the adhesive force exercised by a magnetic adhesive system on a steel sheet also depends on the thickness of the sheet to be attracted. Saturation of the sheet occurs if the thickness of the sheet falls below a certain amount. This causes force lines to pass through the sheet, which may then affect and attract other sheets in the stack. Saturation can be avoided by appropriate selection of the adhesive system's pole spacing. The manual de-stacker developed by us takes account of these circumstances. It has a multi-pole partition with close-polarity spacing and ensures that only one sheet is lifted from the stack. The total adhesive force where vertical lifting is concerned is approx. 20 kp. This value fully suffices for lifting sheets with a thickness of up to 2 mm.

Design and delivery form

The manual de-stacker's close-polarity partitioned permanent magnetic system is arranged in a robust aluminium housing. The housing has two wide eyes on the sides through which a leather belt – or plastic on request - is threaded. We recommend it for de-stacking sheets with a thickness of up to 2 mm.

Use

The manual de-stacker is wrapped and held fast over the work glove with the help of the leather belt. The magnetic system lies firmly on the inner hand surface without being a disturbance. In order to lift a sheet from the stack, the hand is laid flat on one corner of the sheet. The sheet is attracted by the magnet and can be easily lifted or pushed over the edge of the stack. The manual de-stacker is removed from the sheet again without difficulty by bending the hand. The sheet can now be picked up by hand and transported.

It is essential to wear safety gloves when working with steel sheet!

Manual de-stacker with shaft
Type 171219 for sheets 2 - 5 mm thickness
Type 171244 for sheets > 5 mm thickness

Function

The lift capacity of the manual de-stacker is insufficient for lifting sheets/plates over 2 mm thick. In such cases there is no risk of the magnetic field extending down to the underlying sheets. Hence, for lifting thicker metal, there is no need for system multi-polarity and instead powerful dual-polarity systems may be used. Manual de-stackers models 171219 and 171244 meet such requirements.

Design and delivery form

The screened circular permanent magnet system has a strong shaft ending in a plastic ball serving as handle. This relatively long shaft is necessary when levering the de-stacker from the sheet/plate.

Manual de-stackers are supplied in two versions:
Model 171219 with a vertical magnetic force of 40 kg for de-stacking sheets/plates of up to 5 mm thickness. For thicker metal, we recommend the 171244 with a lift capacity of 65 kg.

Use

Simply apply the de-stacker to the corner of the sheet/plate which can then be lifted. For larger sheets/plates, use two de-stackers. To release the de-stacker, simply lever in a downward direction.
